Steam is one platform that cares a lot about the customers and the prices they can pay in each country. Hence, we bring you the top 5 cheapest countries for purchasing games on Steam.
Are you living in the USA or EU region? Sometimes living in a first-world country might not be beneficial especially when you are an unemployed gamer. Many students in western countries either rely on parents or a part-time job if they wish to buy the latest AAA game.
However, there are some countries where even youngsters can afford the best AAA titles without any problems. You can games like GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Far Cry 5, etc. in these countries for up to 60 percent cheaper than in the USA.
We compared some Steam data for different countries and brought the below Analysis for you.
If you noticed, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Brazil are the country present the top 5 cheapest country charts for most of the games.
As for the 5th Candidate, it really varies from game to game and developer to developer. Now you will ask, How?
We compiled three games from Ubisoft as shown on the screenshot above, there is one thing to notice, that Ubisoft is following a certain pattern for the prices of most of its games.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Far Cry 5 are more recent games than Watch Dogs 2, so Ubisoft has set the same prices for both the games. You will not only see the same prices but also the same countries on the list for these two games.
Another thing we noticed is the price difference percentage for the Ubisoft games. For Watch Dogs 2 the prices might be different as the game is a bit older now, but the percentage of the price difference between the USA and other countries is the same as for the other two Ubisoft games.
For Watch Dogs 2 you will also notice that Brazil is not in the 5th place but 3rd place which means they made the game cheaper in Brazil than in Ukraine and CIS to maintain that percentage of the price difference between the USA and other countries.
It clearly shows that Ubisoft is not following the pattern of numbers but a percentage when it comes to the price difference between all the countries.
One more thing we noticed that most of the latest AAA titles in the USA are priced at $59.99 approx.
This does not apply to the third world countries, but when it comes to the USA, Europe, and the UK, the logic is more or less the same to charge somewhere around $60 for all the latest AAA titles.
No matter which developer is the game from, the price most probably will be $59.
We cannot share a huge list of games and their prices in different countries here, but we tried our best to give you a glimpse of the patterns that Steam and game publishers follow to set the prices in each country.
We checked the prices for many games in different countries and what we got from all this analysis is, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Argentina, China, India, CIS, and Brazil are the countries where you can get the cheapest possible games.
We put a lot of effort to bring this analysis to you. We would really appreciate if you would share this article on your social media accounts with your friends and family.
Can you buy games from any of these stores living in the USA? Well, not really. There are a lot of things involved in it. You can do this only if you have a credit/debit card in any of these countries.
We do not recommend any tricks to bypass this price gaps as it is ethically wrong.
Happy Gaming 🙂
